The Most Stupid Ideas Happened In Poland During Stag Parties

You probably want your soon-to-be-married friend to spend his Stag Do in the most unconventional way and so he will remember that for the rest of his life. While being creative don’t forget that some stupid ideas bear the consequences. There are pranks from stag do agencies possible to organize without problems.

Especially for you, we have collected 5 examples of stag parties that really happened in different parts of Europe, and which due to their nature have been widely commented in the local media.

  1. FAKE ARREST

Drunk member of a stag party group were pretending to be a policeman to surprise his friend. He had fake uniform and a gun. Stopped by real police he got a fine and one year on a probation.

Red high heels and handcuffs

  1. TRICKY PHONE CALL

Friends of a stag challenged him to find a number of a person named the same as his future wife and tell her over the phone that he cannot wait to get married and spend life with her. Two days later police knocked at his door and fined for harassment of an elder lady.

  1. BUBBLY FOUNTAIN

Stag group poured shampoo to a fountain on Market Square in Wroclaw. As you may guess there were foam and bubbles all over the place.

  1. LOST LAMA

In France, Bordeaux a stag do group stole lama named Serge from circus and took her for a ride in a tram.

  1. BURNED HAIR

A plane going from Manchester to Mallorca had to crash land in London because 24-year-old guy burned his friend’s hair to make fun of him. As it occurred later they were about to celebrate a stag party in Spain.

Probably the organizers wanted the best and it turned out as usual. So if you’re looking for an equally crazy option, but without these negative consequences think about organizing a stag do with local stag do agency in Poland and ask for prank activities, costumes and dressed strippers to make stag weekend unforgettable!

Where To Eat In Cracow – Guide Made By Locals

This is the ultimate guide around restaurants in Cracow made by locals. Here you will find where to eat and drink well and some tips where to go apart of obvious touristic spots.

In Cracow is so many restaurants, bar and pubs that it’s not possible to visit them all even for people who live here. We put them into categories where to eat in Cracow for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are places we know and recommend personally and were we always send our stag do in Poland.

Let’s go!

For breakfast in Krakow

Ranny Ptaszek

Meaning: early bird. And you better wake up early if you want to eat delicious shakshouka, toasts with hummus or amazing, polish style pancakes with homemade jam. The place is run by a mum and daughter. It’s small but definitely worth visiting.

Restaurant in Cracow

Kolanko No 6

Even though it’s in Kazimierz, so quite touristic place. It’s one of not many with large breakfast and amazing coffee. You leave the place with full stomach and wallet because the price is super low – 25PLN per person for the whole breakfast.

Restaurant in Cracow, Kazimierz

For lunch in Cracow

 Vegano Café

Lovely, comfy interior and delicious vegetarian food. Fresh products, large portions and affordable prices. Above all the staff is super friendly and helpful. Everyone will find something for himself from salads to toasts and ciabattas.

Vegan food in Cracow

Metrum Restobistro

That’s a must see viewpoint, the best spot to admire beautiful Cracow and eat tasty. Metrum is on a 6th floor of Musical Academy just in the heart of Market Square. Popular among students place used to be simple student canteen in the past. There were even shot some scenes for a movie “Vinci”.

View point in Cracow

Hummus Amamamusi

Freshly made every day hummus for all hummus lovers. The kitchen is open so you can see your food being prepared. Delicious sweets and coffee is served here as well. There is not much place inside but you can grab a hummus sandwich and go to admire beautiful Cracow if you are larger group.

Hummus in restaurant in Cracow

For dinner in Cracow

Nolio

Italian restaurant with food made with real love. The interior is modern but traditional at the same time. Customer service on a high level. Original, Italian products – olive oil, cheese, vines etc. Small Italy in Poland for your stag do experience. Prices are affordable comparing to other restaurants in Cracow. Remember to make a booking before, it may get busy during the weekend.

Pizza in Cracow

Smaki Gruzji

Real Georgian restaurant with a Georgian chef. If you have never visited this beautiful Balkan country you will definitely feel its vibes with local staff and music. Coriander, garlic, lots of spices and nuts. Above all, the best wines ever and super strong vodka. Chinkali, Chaczapuri (Adżaruli) i Badridżani goes perfectly with Georgian alcohol. Again… booking is needed here.

 georgian cuisine in Krakow

Poco Loco

We were in Italy and Georgia – now is time for Mexico! Colorful plates and dishes you can arrange yourself. Accompanied with tequilla shots you will not be disappointed. Interior of the restaurant puts you in a good mood and super friendly staff will help if it’s your first experience with Mexican cuisine. Above all Poco Loco are environmental friendly and less waste. Go for the venue in Kazimierz – it’s bigger and easier to  get a table if you don’t have a booking.

A person holding a shot of tequilla

For a beer or drink in Cracow

Forum Przestrzenie

Very popular place but definitely a must during summer and perfect for stag groups. It’s outdoor so if there is no free sunbed you can literally sit on the sand and admire the view on the river. There are concerts and festivals held during the season. One minus – long queues to the bar.

 Beach bar in Cracow

Dolne Młyny

Very popular chill out area with a lot of pubs and bars around. Place with a soul and wide selection of any kind of alcohol. There are places to eat and buy cigarettes as well. Actually there used to be cigarettes factory before. Dolne Młyny is called “city inside the city” – everyone will find something your himself.

 Bar in Cracow

Z ust do ust

To get to this hidden place you need to solve some riddles. It’s like an escape room outdoor. When you do find it you have a nice party with climatic music and relaxing interior. Original drinks a’la pop culture and super friendly staff. Prices are quite high as for Poland but it’s worth visiting as a before party for one drink and have fun even looking for this place, but shhh we cannot say anything else!

Hidden restaurant in Cracow

Fine Wine

Perfect for our lovely French customers who are always looking for wines. As during pub crawl in Cracow there is not many places you can drink a good wine because as you may already know polish people are more for vodka and beer, this place is an exception. You can taste, buy and even get some fast training how to drink wine. Bottles from all around the world are unique and in affordable prices.

 Winery in Cracow

We tried to cover all places where to go for your stag do in Krakow, which are not so crowdy and popular and some quite touristic but definitely a must see.

Recover From Hangover In a Polish Way (Before and After Drinking Tips) https://solterotrips.com/recover-from-hangover/ https://solterotrips.com/recover-from-hangover/#respond Wed, 11 Dec 2019 16:46:00 +0000 https://solterotrips.com/?p=10024 The post Recover From Hangover In a Polish Way (Before and After Drinking Tips) appeared first on Soltero.

Recover From Hangover In a Polish Way (Before and After Drinking Tips)

The culture of drinking alcohol in Poland is quite specific.

If we drink, it’s a lot and quickly. Usually in company. Often the pace is set by the leader or the host who tops the toasts and makes sure that nobody is behind. If you drink slow you get a punishment by extra shots (polish: karniaki) and if someone doesn’t drink, they usually seem very suspicious to the rest.

We say: A man is not a camel – has to drink.

If you are coming for a crazy Stag Party Weekend to Poland or other eastern European country you have to know how to drink to not have a hangover (polish: kac) and what to do if you will already have it. Polish people have many golden tips how to recover from hangover using simple homemade cures.

First of all – prevent. See our 5 precautions what to do to avoid hangover or at least ease it a little.

  1. Eat fat and meaty

Fat meals prevent rapid alcohol absorption. You can drink as much as you can and still remember the whole night. While you are in Poland for a stag party try traditional dinner with our national chicken broth you will not find anywhere else than Poland.

  1. Don’t smoke

Cigarettes make your hangover worse to bear. Worse headache, stomachache and dizziness. For all occasional smokers is better to have one cigarette before the party and rather stop when you will already start drinking. Don’t be misguided with a low price of cigarettes in Poland and better buy more and bring home.

  1. Water

Liquid of life, white gold good for before and after party. Not even… good for every day. No pills and supplements are so helpful like water so do not forget about it and drink even more while partying. For small bladder’s lads – do not pee in public, you will for sure be fined for that. It’s good to chase alcohol with water and lemon and definitely not with fizzy drinks. Carbon dioxide contained in carbonated drinks accelerates absorption of ethanol. Whisky with apple juice, beer doesn’t count and vodka? Vodka simply alone.

  1. Don’t mix

Seems obvious, everyone knows it but it may be a problem for a stag weekend in Poland since there is so many vodka flavours and delicious draft beer in mini breweries around market square in Warsaw, Wrocław or Kraków. We will change this rule a little to adjust to polish reality – don’t mix too much. Opt for our Vodka Tasting or Pub Crawl, we will know how to host you without a headache.

  1. Get rest

Don’t go drinking if you are tired and sleepy, you will finish fast and with a huge hangover. Get some rest before and go to the party ready and fresh.

Second of all – cure. See our 5 golden tips what to do when you didn’t stick to the rules before. In a natural way.

  1. Witamine C

Lemon juice is the first thing coming to our mind but in Poland very popular hangover remedy are soups – cabbage, rye or cucumber soups are sour and can work miracles for your pure stomach. You can find them in almost any polish restaurant in every city.

  1. Tomatoe juice

Tomato juice not only perfectly hydrates the body, but is also rich in potassium. A large amount of alcohol consumed causes leaching of potassium, which makes us feel tired and weak. Going further with this topic, you shouldn’t paradoxically drink coffee because it will not wake you up but make the hangover worse. Your organism already has little minerals after night of drinking and leaching it more with caffeine is not a good idea.

  1. Ginger miracle

Ginger has been used for years for nausea, stomach ache and vomiting – typical symptoms of an alcohol hangover. It stimulates the work of the digestive system and accelerates digestion, and thus the excretion of alcohol from the body. Use it for tea – mixture of ginger, honey and lemon will cleanse the alcohol poisoned organism.

  1. Asparagus

By consuming a large amount of alcohol, we flush out minerals, amino acids and a lot of vitamins from the body. To supplement them, it is worth eating asparagus, which will quickly supplement the ingredients necessary for normal functioning. Eating asparagus on a hangover helps reduce nausea, stomach ache as well as drowsiness. eaten before a party, will help protect liver cells from harmful alcohol metabolites.

Cooked asparagus on a plate with lemon on side

  1. Move, move, move

Fitness helps you recover and refresh your body better than anything else. Go for a walk, run if you have energy or if you are staying in Poland try out our Thermal Baths in Cracow or the best aquaparks available in every city.

How Does Polish Wedding Look Like (Stag Do and Gift Ideas)

Polish wedding is a core of our tradition. All of the legends you have heard are true. Nowadays it doesn?t even matter if you are Christian, atheist or representant of other religion ? when you are planning to get married, everyone expects you to throw a big, expensive wedding in polish style.

And now, what does it even mean? How does polish wedding look like? How to survive it?

More food on the table than people

There is a simple, unwritten rule ? more meals is better than less. On a typical wedding around 4-5 hot meals is served during the night plus hell of a lot finger food, starters, betweeners and sweet table. It?s impossible for guests to eat it all so most likely they will have it packed home or eat leftovers the next day which is called ?Poprawiny?- afer party.

It may sound like a waste but trust us sooner or later the food is miraculously gone and a little of it ends up in trash.

People playing games on a polish wedding.

When is the wedding and what to give as a gift?

Summer definitely! Ceremony in the church starts around 3-5 pm and then we are all heading to the reception which is until morning the next dat. When you are at age 25-35 do not make too much summer plans as most likely June-September you will have someone?s wedding every two weeks. Planning not to attend? Better not. It?s considered rude to refuse an invitation without a good reason and watch it ? spending holiday in Mallorca is not a reason at all.

The best practice is to give an envelope with money as a gift rather than to buy something. How much to put in an envelope? Well, the most common rule is to put more than a cost of a plate so roughly 300PLN per person. It is now often heard that people are giving empty envelopes ? this practice is rather bad.

?What about Stag and Hen Party?

Who is throwing a party for soon-to-be-married friend differs in regions. In most parts of Poland it will be a best man or a bridesmaid planning a stag do or hen party behind bride/groom back with a group of friends. They pay for everything what the evening covers and apart of that buy some small gift. Sometimes it?s groom or bride who is organizing and paying for everything and sometimes there is no party at all? just kidding:D

If you want to experience real polish stag do ? contact us, we will show you how to party, drink vodka and don?t get drunk!

Bread, salt and broken glasses

When the time already came, couple said ?yes?, the party starts. Both parents welcome the married couple with bread and salt. They as well have to drink two shots of vodka and throw glasses behind them to crash for luck. We practice that as well during Soltero Night to start the night in really polish way). At the beginning a bit shy and slow, people are getting used to each other and after a few rounds of vodka (must be vodka) the craziness starts. Songs everyone knows are being sung, games are being played. There is usually partymaker who makes sure the wedding doesn?t get boring and some drunk uncle dancing with literally everyone. Polish reception usually finishes around 5 a.m. when most of the guests went home or fell asleep under the table.

A couple eating bread and salt durring wedding ceremony

Who?s getting married next?

During the reception after cutting the cake at midnight a lot of games take place. You can seriously find out if you will get married next year or not. You simply have to catch a vail/tie and it?s all settled. There is running around circle of chairs, dares and challenges. It?s called OCZEPINY and here you can find a video showing games examples.

The Best Man Manual

So your best mate/brother/brother-in-law/colleague from work/your girlfriend ex-man (ok, maybe this is kind of a rare thing, but who knows…) is getting married and you got the honour to be his best man! How to prepare? Don’t worry – we got your back!

The Best-man To-Do List

The best man has plenty things to do before and on the wedding day such as:

  • Helping the groom in choosing his wedding suit
  • Taking care of wedding rings during the ceremony
  • Delivering speech during the wedding party
  • Making sure none of the groom’s friends gets out of control during the party

And most of all:

  • The wild, epic, once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable organized stag do!

How To Prepare a Stag Do?

Organizing a stag do is considered the key function of the best man. How to do it right? Remember about certain rules:

  1. Make it all about the groom! It’s his day, so choose activities he is fond of. Is he into football? Get him to the match! Does he like parties and booze? Think about all weekend long stag do – in Poland for instance, where there is great party and drinking alcohol culture.
  2. Make a list of guests. Think about all groom’s mates – do research by asking the bride. The thing to consider is whether to ask the groom’s father, father-in-law – if they are elderly and no-fun, you might want to skip them or make a separate low-key, family stag do.
  3. Discuss and agree on the budget. You might want to go over the top, but remember each has different financial situation, so make sure everybody is ok with expenses.
  4. Set the date. This might be the most challenging task! To synchronize calendars so the date fits all – especially the groom of course. Plan in advance so people can save the date and ask for holidays at work for the day after!
  5. Choose the clothing theme. If you like dressing up, think about one motive of the party and suitable clothes! See our rental and purchase options and contact us for more.

That will be almost all – on the stag party remember to watch out for others so they don’t get too wasted (you don’t want to make another “The Hangover” film…). If you look for some organised bachelor party: in Poland agency of ours will take care of everything! Just drop us a line!

Stag Survival Kit for Trip to Poland

Stag Survival Kit for Trip to Poland

Poland is definitely a perfect place for vodka, beer and party lovers, hence a perfect place for your Organized Stag Party.

Not to get carried away and lost here we’ve prepared you a small survival kit so your weekend will be unforgettable… in a good way.

  1. Eat a lot, drink a lot

Polish cuisine is rather fat and heavy. A lot of flour, oil, onion, garlic and meat make meals difficult to digest and here comes vodka! Our traditional potato liquor works miracles after a meal so do not hesitate to have a shot or two a few times a day.

It works other way around as well – after a night full off alcohol EAT. Chicken broth is our national, well-known hangover medicine.

Not familiar with polish dishes? Check out our Traditional Dinner offer

  1. Master vocabulary

As weird as it sounds polish people feel good If foreigners coming to Poland know a few words in our language. Master a few expressions and you and your friends will definitely get a lot of benefits out of that simple knowledge during your stag weekend. For help see our previous article about Polish Expressions

  1. Gatsby outfit

In some pubs and nightclubs dress code is required – especially in Warsaw. And to these fancy places you most likely will want to enter. Do not forget to pack some shirt and shoes which are not snickers. It will save you a lot of time and trouble.

  1. Money, money, money

First of all, Poland is not in euro zone so you should have some polish zloty in your wallet. In some places, you will have to pay cash (kiosks, grocery stores) and most likely you will have notes freshly withdrawn from ATM – bad idea, shop assistants almost never have change so try to break them to as small as possible. It is even considered rude to pay in ex. 100PLN note for chewing gum or a lighter.

  1. Smile! … but not too much

Poles are cheerful and happy nation, in general, but smiling to strangers in public is considered rather weird and uncomfortable so if you really want to get a phone number from this pretty blond girl just go straight to the point without beating about the bush and smiling from the corner – it will creep her out.

We pretty much covered the most important facts and showed you how to survive in Poland, but remember – booking your weekend with us you will always have a guide (check out how lovely guides we have here) on hand so she can save you any misunderstanding.

The Origin of Stag Do and why is it called like that

Have you ever wondered why stag is the theme of last night of freedom and why in Britain, Canada and Ireland it’s Stag Do while in Australia it’s Buck’s Night and USA Bachelor Party?

If so, read on to find out the answer.

In the past ‘stag’ was referred to any male animal. Virile and strong leader of the pack just like groom-to-be and his band of male friends.

Another, more ancient theory is saying that the term derives from the horned, Celtic god Cernunnos. He was a symbol of fertility, life, animals’ hunt and wealth. For ancient brits he was basically everywhere in life episodes – like weddings and wed ceremonials.

Other explanation dates back to ancient Sparta where a man was celebrating the night before the wedding (last night of freedom) with his friends eating, drinking and promising lifetime friendship. There is no difference from what we do now tho.

If you are in charge of organizing stag party – celebration rooted in history, tradition and even religion check our Ready Stag Do Packages and come to Poland to make this weekend special.

Stag Party in different languages:

Spanish: Despedida de Soltero – Farewell to a bachelor

French: Enterrement de vie de garcon – funeral of the life of an unmarried man

Polish: Wieczór kawalerski – simply bachelor night

German: Junggesellenabschied – farewell to bachelorhood

The Ultimate Guide to Drink Polish Vodka During Stag Do in Poland!

There is no stag do in Poland without a proper dose of Polish vodka shots! Whatever are your dream organised stag night in Poland ideas, they have to include a crawl through one or two or more pubs to taste this booze of gods – Polish vodka! But how to drink it right and don’t struggle with a massive hangover the next day? Follow our tips!

While Drinking Polish Vodka on a Stag Party in Poland Remember to:

  • First eat! Preferably some fat, big dish with meat (pierogi anyone?) to prepare your digestive system for alcohol.
  • Don’t mix alcohols! You think starting with beer, then having whiskey-based drinks and ending with vodka shots sounds good? Think again: it sounds like a recipe for a massive headache the next day! Better go with vodka – in drinks or shots – all the night long.
  • Add natural juices! We know everybody likes their vodka with coke or sprite, but the fact is that the better combination for your stomach is vodka with orange, apple or other fruit juice.
  • Dance, dance, dance! Don’t just sit and drink for hours – you may find yourself being a bit wasted once you finally stand up! Between drinks try to dance (maybe with some lovely polish girls?), so you don’t get too drunk too soon.
  • End your night right by… eating again! Nothing better than some junkie food at the early hours of morning after the party.
  • Water is your friend! Before you go to sleep drink a glass of water and put one next to your bed also. You will thank yourself once you wake up!

Of course we know there are some pills for hangover, but the real party animals don’t use such tricks – they just bravely drink vodka while following above rules and the next day feel fresh and ready to…party again!
